Long arm stands for stereomicroscopes are designed to allow the microscope head to ‘swing out’ either over large surface area specimens, or to allow fine manipulations on a work bench such as soldering for example without the stand getting in the way.

The BM1 has its stereo head fixed to the long arm, the other heavier systems have focus blocks that will accommodate our BMSZ, BMDZ, BMZ and BMZE stereoheads in an interchangeable way.

BM1 - this is a portable smaller long arm system with a fixed stereohead with magnification options of x10, x20 and x35. The heavy base acts as a counterbalance. Ideal for smaller applications.

Bench clamp system - ideal for swinging the microscope head over the working area and then back out of the way when not needed. It clamps to the edge of benching and has a single horizontal pole with an additional short rack and pinion movement to allow fine length adjustment. A very stable system on solid benching. Length of travel up to 350cms.

Suitable for our zoom BMSZ,BMDZ,BMZ and BMZE stereo heads

Single pole system - more suitable for systems that will remain in place. It has a heavy square base more than capable of counterbalancing the stereo head. Vertical pole height 400cms Length of travel up to 350cms. The pole knuckle allows the microscope head to rotate fully in any direction.

Suitable for our zoom BMSZ,BMDZ,BMZ and BMZE stereo heads

Double pole system - ideal for systems that need maximum stability when used towards full extension. It has a  heavy square base more than capable of counterbalancing the stereo head. Vertical pole height 400cms Double horizontal pole with a counterbalance and a ball bearing race to ease movement 400cms. The focus block  allows the microscope head to rotate fully in any direction.

Suitable for our zoom BMSZ,BMDZ,BMZ and BMZE stereo heads

Extra length system - the extra length system is essential for use over specimens with a very large surface area for example painting restoration. It has three points of pivot and is spring loaded to facilitate holding the chosen position. It has a very heavy base as counterbalance. Pole height 450mms The arm when fully extended has a length of 846mms although this can be folded back as appropriate. The focus block  allows the microscope head to rotate fully in any direction.
