The BMX series of stereomicroscope are the latest addition to the Brunel range. Put simply these in our opinion are without equal in this price range. The quality of optical performance is exceptional and the dual illumination stand is extremely well made and gives superb lighting.

The stereo heads have dual pairs of objectives, and the magnification can be changed by a click stop control on the side of the microscope body. Two magnification combinations are available - x10/x30 or x20/x40 with model names BMX3 and BMX4 accordingly. x15 and x25  eyepieces are available as accessories that will increase magnifications to potentially x75 and x100 respectively

The BMX series is available on either a dual illuminated base, plain stand or long arm system. The long arm version is either a bench clamp (illustrated) or a single pole conventional long arm unit.

The stereohead is equipped with super widefield eyepieces, and the interpupillary adjustment range is between 54mm to 75mm, and one eyetube has full dioptric adjustment. The working distance is an impressive 105mm.

Both the plain and dual illumination stands are substantial and the pole stand allows considerable movement for coarse focus and the rack and pinion of the focus block allows fine adjustment and has a variable tension adjustment.

Both stands have a wide platform with a reversible black/white dissection plate and slide clips, and a support collar that can be positioned immediately beneath the focus block to provide stability. The dual illumination base has a 6 volt 15 watt incident rheostat controlled lighting system.

This is exceptional, and the transmitted lighting is a 5 watt fluorescent strip light that gives an even field illumination.

The BMX head can also be supplied with the choice of two long arm systems. The bench clamp unit is illustrated and is a very flexible system that allows the stereohead to be deployed in a variety of situation. The head system has a fine focus mechanism for both vertical and horizontal movement.

In addition to the bench clamp system the BMX can also be supplied with a single boom arm heavy duty base.
